Pronking Pacas

The Pronking Pacas 4-H Club is an extremely laid back club, yet the members must come to Project Judging and help with setting up at the Geauga County Fair, as part of their membership.

Where the Club Meets: The club meets at different farms in the area.

Club Activities: The Pronking Pacas 4-H Club holds many activities such as a big annual cookout at a member’s home.  During the Geauga County Fair, they take time to enjoy a big scavenger hunt on the Fairgrounds and an overnight with breakfast the next morning at the Grange booth.

In December 2008, the entire Pronking Pacas club took their animals and went to Springfield, Ohio to a large Alpaca show.  The members took part in Halter, Obstacle, Pack, Public Relations, and Showmanship classes during the weekend event.  They also set up a stand and sold snacks as a club fundraiser. 

For Community Service, the club members have taken their Alpacas to local libraries and to inner city Cleveland schools to do educational presentations.  Many children do not know what to make of Alpacas and have never seen them!
