BY-LAWS

Article I - Name
The name of this organization shall be The PlantMasters 4-H Club. The PlantMasters 4-H Club is part of the 4-H organization in Geauga County.

Article II - Objective, purpose of the club
The object of The PlantMasters 4-H Club shall be to provide education, growth opportunities, and fun for 4-H members. These will relate to their 4-H projects, especially plant projects.

Article III - Members

Section 1. Any person who meets 4-H qualifications shall be eligible for membership in The PlantMasters 4-H Club. New members will be welcomed warmly.

Section 2. The annual dues shall be $10.00 and shall be payable on or before the May meeting.

Article IV - Officers

Section 1. The officers of The PlantMasters 4-H Club shall be a president, a vice-president, a secretary, a treasurer, a newspaper reporter, a recreation officer, and a historian.

Section 2. The officers shall perform the duties in the following manner. President: The president shall run the meetings and shall be the main administrator. Vice-President: The vice-president shall run the meeting in the absence of the president and shall be the assistant administrator. The Vice-President will also fulfill the role of Newspaper Reporter. Secretary: The secretary shall run the meeting in the absence of the president, vice-president, and shall take minutes and attendance. Treasurer: The treasurer shall run the meeting in the absence of the president, vice-president, and secretary and shall manage the finances. Newspaper Reporter: The newspaper reporter shall write news articles. This position will be filled by the Vice-President. Recreational Officer: The recreational officer shall plan activities for meetings and arrange for refreshments to be brought. Historian: The historian will keep a record of club activities.

Section 3. The officers shall be elected by majority ballot at the first meeting held each club year. The club year will go from October to September of the next year.

Article V - Meetings
A majority of club members shall constitute a quorum.

Article VI - Parliamentary Authority

Section 1. The rules contained in the Geauga County Junior Fair and 4-H regulations shall be followed.

Section 2. Basic parliamentary procedure shall be followed during meetings.

Article VII - How to amend the by-laws
These by-laws may be amended at any meeting with the attendance of 3/4 of the members and with a 3/4 majority vote.
