Plant Masters

Each year, club members study a different family of plants of agronomic importance. Projects in previous years have included the sunflower and squash families. Currently we are working with plants of the Solanaceae (tomato, potato and pepper family). We study plant anatomy, morphology, pathology, ethnobotany and crop science.

We meet the first Thursday of each month, except for the summer, when we meet every other week.

Club members are expected to complete the project book written by the club advisors, grow one or two members of the family under study, participate in interview judging and take an exhibit to fair.

In addition to meetings, we have field trips, parties and community service projects.
