Geauga Junior
G
enealogists & Memory Keepers

No person, place, or event is ever forgotten as long as one person remembers!

When the Club Meets: The club meets on the Second and Fourth Thursdays at 7:00 p.m. at the Chardon Library.

Advisors: Cathy Pitorak Sweet and Abby Sweet. Founded by Sandra Malitz, Cathy Sweet, and Regina Collins.

Main Club Project: The club focus is on Genealogy and Family History. The club brings in other elements in their role as “Memory Keepers”, such as offering projects in beginning digital photography, simple scrapbooking, cake decorating, and preserving family recipes.

Other Club Activities:  The Geauga Junior Genealogists have taken many field trips to places such as Western Reserve Historical Society, the Geauga County Recorders Office, and the Geauga County Archives.  They have also invited speakers in to share their stories and expertise!

For Community Service, the club has collected items for the Hare Raisers’ annual Hunger Task Force food drive and has donated pet items for Geauga Humane Society’s Rescue Village.  The club has also donated items to Project Hope for the Homeless.

The club’s main Community Service has been focused on honoring Veterans.  The club is actively seeking World War II Veterans to enter on the National Memorial website.  The club members can help you honor these brave men and women by adding their names and military service to the National World War II Memorial.   www.wwiimemorial.com
